Salary Details
- During Initial Temporary Period (1 year): Consolidated wages as per applicable minimum wages of the unit of posting.
- On Regularization as Artisan Grade-IV: Pay Scale Rs. 29,500 – 65,000 plus applicable allowances as per company rules.
- Preference Benefits:
- Best Apprentice (All India Skill Competition, DGET): Direct call for Skill Test; if selected, inducted with 2 increments in the above scale.
- Runner-up Apprentice: Direct call for Skill Test; if selected, inducted at minimum of the above scale.
Educational Qualification
- Class 10th PLUS National Trade Certificate (NTC/ITI) PLUS National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the respective trade.
- Minimum Marks: 60% (Gen/OBC) and 55% (SC/ST) in both NTC/ITI and NAC.
- Desirable: Knowledge of regional language for Units in Tamil Nadu, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka; Hindi for other Units.
Age Limit
- As on 01 July 2025:
- Gen/EWS: 27 years
- OBC (NCL): 30 years
- SC/ST: 32 years
- Additional Relaxations:
- PwD: +10 years (Gen), +13 years (OBC), +15 years (SC/ST)
- Ex-Servicemen: As per Govt. rules
- J&K Domicile (01.01.1980–31.12.1989): +5 years
- Relevant Work Experience: Up to 7 years relaxation (as per prescribed format)
Selection Process
- Stage I: Computer Based Examination (CBE)
- Trade-wise online test (out of 100 marks).
- Shortlisting for Stage II in 1:5 ratio per trade, unit, and category based on CBE merit.
- Relaxed shortlisting thresholds for PwD and Ex-Servicemen: minimum qualifying 30 marks (UR/EWS) and 22.5 marks (OBC/SC/ST).
- Exam Language Options: Hindi/English/third language (Kannada/Telugu/Tamil). Exceptions:
- Foundryman: Hindi or English only
- Electronics Mechanic: Hindi/English/Kannada only
- Test centers: Candidates can choose up to 5 preferred cities; final allotment at BHEL’s discretion.
- Stage II: Skill Test & Document Verification
- Mandatory for shortlisted candidates.
- Skill Test is qualifying in nature.
- Final merit list based solely on CBE score, subject to qualification in Skill Test and eligibility in Document Verification.
- Special Preference: Best/Runner-up Apprentices (All India Skill Competitions, DGET) are exempted from CBE and directly called for Skill Test (subject to eligibility).

- UR/EWS/OBC: Examination Fee Rs. 600 + Processing Rs. 400 + GST = Rs. 1,072 (plus bank charges if any)
- SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen: Examination Fee NIL; Processing Rs. 400 + GST = Rs. 472 (plus bank charges if any)
Instructions
- Apply online only; multiple applications: only the last submitted will be considered.
- Ensure eligibility and accuracy of details; incorrect information may lead to rejection/termination.
- Category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD/ExSM) once declared cannot be changed later.
- OBC candidates not in Non-Creamy Layer must apply as General.

- Produce ITI/NAC mark sheets at Skill Test; mandatory.

- Medical fitness as per BHEL standards is mandatory before joining.
- Posting/Transfer: Selected candidates must serve at the allotted Unit for at least 20 years; no transfer/change of posting entertained during this period. Any exceptional transfer back to preferred unit, if allowed, will be on reversion to A3 grade at bottom seniority.
