Job Description
Hitachi Energy is a premier supplier of power semiconductors for a wide range of applications, including industrial, power generation & distribution, transportation, e-mobility, and renewable energy. The Product Evaluation and Qualification (PEQ) team plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of faultless, robust semiconductor chips and power modules through a stringent qualification process. This role offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge silicon (Si) and silicon carbide (SiC) technology to innovate the next generation of power electronics devices.
Your Responsibilities
- Engage in development projects for new semiconductor chips and power modules.
- Work closely with design, process, and product engineering teams to assess new product performance.
- Oversee electrical and reliability testing to ensure high-quality qualification results.
- Develop and manage external testing suppliers, especially in Asia, for outsourced qualification activities.
- Monitor test suppliers to ensure the accuracy and reliability of their results.
- Create comprehensive test plans and specifications based on risk assessments, customer needs, and industry standards.
- Analyze test data and report key findings to project stakeholders.
- Author and review test reports and develop detailed product data sheets.
- Contribute to the scientific community by authoring papers and presenting products at industry events.
- Travel occasionally (approximately 20%), primarily within Europe and Asia.
- Ensure all activities comply with internal and external regulations and guidelines.

Your Background
- Educational Qualification:
- A Bachelor of Engineering (in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics, or Electronics & Instrumentation) with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- OR a Master of Engineering (in Power Electronics and/or Semiconductor Devices) with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of power systems, power electronics, and semiconductors. Proficiency in Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, CAD software, statistical analysis tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership qualities, a collaborative mindset, and excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. A high level of assertiveness and attention to detail is required.
