Salary Details
- Pay Scales: Varies by post.
- Level 1: Rs. 18,000 – 56,900 (Junior Tradesmen)
- Level 5: Rs. 21,100 – 67,100 (Technical Assistant, TNEB)
- Level 8 to Level 20: Up to Rs. 80,000+ for higher posts
- Pension/Benefits: As per Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS)/Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) or respective department rules
Educational Qualification
- Minimum:
- Diploma / ITI / National Trade Certificate / National Apprenticeship Certificate in relevant subject/trade, or
- Degree in Engineering/Technology (where applicable, considered higher qualification except for Agri/Horti posts)
- Technical Assistant, Tradesman, and Junior Engineer posts all require respective field Diploma, ITI, or equivalent.
- Special Note:
- For Assistant Agricultural Officer, must possess 2-year Diploma in Agriculture
- For Assistant Horticultural Officer, 2-year Diploma in Horticulture required
- For Tradesman (TNSTC/Transport): SSLC + relevant ITI + completed apprenticeship (where mandated)
- Must possess adequate knowledge in Tamil (see notification for details)
- Higher degree holders (with same discipline) eligible except for specific restrictions
Age Limit
- As on 01-07-2025:
- General/UR (not in reserved categories): 18–32 years (some posts: up to 47 years; JTO posts: up to 37 years)
- BC/OBC/MBC/SC/ST/etc.: No maximum age limit for most posts

Selection Process
- Single Stage Written Examination:
- Paper I (SSLC Standard):
- Part A: Tamil Eligibility Test (100 Qs, 150 Marks, 3 hrs)
- Part B: General Studies (75 Qs, 135 Marks)
- Part C: Aptitude & Mental Ability (25 Qs, 45 Marks)
- Paper II (Relevant Diploma/ITI subject/trade):
- 200 Qs, 300 Marks, 3 hrs, CBT mode
- Paper I (SSLC Standard):
- Shortlisting & Ranking:
- Based on marks scored, reservation rules, and subject to certificate/eligibility verification
- Onscreen & Physical Certificate Verification
- Counselling / Final Appointment:
- As per merit and reservation rules

How to Apply

- Complete One Time Registration (OTR) (Rs. 150/-, valid for 5 years; Aadhar linking mandatory)
- Fill out the Combined Technical Services Examination application online.
- Select relevant post(s) and Subject Paper(s).
- Upload color photograph, signature, and all required documents/certificates in prescribed format.
- Pay Rs. 100 Exam Fee (per subject; exemptions available for SC/ST/PWD/DW as per norms).
- Submit and retain final application printout for reference.
- Application Correction Window: Edit details from 16-07-2025 to 18-07-2025.
