Salary Details
The pay scale for the positions is as follows:
- Inspector (BDDS): ₹37,700–₹1,19,500
- Sub-Inspector (BDDS): ₹36,900–₹1,16,600
- Head Constable (BDDS): ₹20,600–₹65,500
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed a minimum of SSLC or its equivalent from a recognized board.
Technical Qualification & Experience
- BDD Course: Must be qualified in a minimum 6-week BDD course conducted by CME (Pune), NSG, or BCAS.
- Service Experience: A minimum of 10 years of service in the Army or a Paramilitary Force.
- Practical Experience: Sound knowledge and practical experience in BD units such as 261 or 262 CED Units of the Indian Army, EDD Wing of CME, BD Unit of NSG, National Bomb Data Centre, or Airports.
- Skills: Must have field engineering skills and the ability to impart BDD training in both Tamil and English.
- Medical Category: Must be in SHAPE-I medical category.
Age Limit
Applicants must be below 50 years of age as of July 1, 2025.
Selection Process
The selection process involves Selection Trials for eligible candidates, which will include:

- Written Test
- Practical Test
