Salary Details
- Training stipend: Rs.56,100 per month for one year (Flight Cadets).
- Pay on commissioning (7th CPC): Flying Officer – Level 10, Rs.56,100–1,77,500 plus MSP Rs.15,500.
- Allowances as applicable (e.g., Flying, Technical, Transport, Risk & Hardship).
- Insurance: Rs.1.25 crore cover (contributory) via AFGIS.
Educational Qualification
- Flying Branch:
- 10+2 with 50% each in Maths and Physics; and
- Graduation (3-year degree) with 60% OR BE/B.Tech (4-year) with 60% OR AMIE/Aeronautical Society of India with 60%.
- Ground Duty (Technical):
- AE(L): 10+2 with 50% in Maths & Physics; and 4-year Engg./Integrated PG or AMIE/ASI/IETE with 60% in specified ECE/EE/CS/IT disciplines as listed.
- AE(M): 10+2 with 50% in Maths & Physics; and 4-year Engg./Integrated PG or AMIE/ASI with 60% in specified Mechanical/Production/Automobile/Mechatronics/Metallurgy and related disciplines.
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical):
- WS: 10+2 with 50% in Maths & Physics; and Graduation with 60% OR BE/B.Tech with 60%.
- Admin & Logistics: 10+2 and Graduation with 60% OR AMIE/ASI with 60%.
- Accounts: 10+2 and B.Com OR BBA/BMS/BBS (Finance) with 60% OR CA/CMA/CS/CFA OR B.Sc (Finance) with 60%.
- Education: 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% plus Graduation with 60%.
- Meteorology: 10+2 and B.Sc (Physics & Maths) with 60% OR 4-year Engg./Tech in specified ECE/EE/IT/CS/Mechanical with 60%.

Age Limit
- Flying (AFCAT/NCC): 20–24 years as on 01.07.2026 (DOB between 02.07.2002 and 01.07.2006). CPL holders: up to 26 years (02.07.2000–01.07.2006).
- Ground Duty (Tech/Non-Tech): 20–26 years as on 01.07.2026 (DOB between 02.07.2000 and 01.07.2006).
- Marital status: Unmarried at commencement; marriage not permitted during training.
Selection Process
- AFCAT Online Exam:
- Dates: 23–24 Aug 2025 (reserve 25 Aug 2025).
- Duration: 2 hours; 100 questions; 300 marks.
- Sections: General Awareness, Verbal Ability (English), Numerical Ability, Reasoning & Military Aptitude.
- Marking: +3 correct; –1 incorrect; 0 unattempted. Normalization across shifts.
- AFSB Testing (for AFCAT qualifiers; NCC Special Entry directly to AFSB):
- Stage I: OIR + PP&DT (screening).
- Stage II: Psychological tests, Group tests, Interview; CPSS for Flying (once in lifetime).
- Medical Standards: As per Appendix A (detailed physical/medical norms).
- Final Merit: Based on AFCAT + AFSB, medical fitness, vacancies, and preferences.
How to Apply
- Mode: Online only via careerindianairforce.cdac.in or afcat.cdac.in.
- Steps:
- Register and complete application with personal, qualification, preferences.
- Upload photo, signature, thumb impression (10–50KB each).
- Select exam city.
- Pay exam fee (AFCAT entry only): Rs.550 + GST, online via payment gateway.
- Download admit card from 07.08.2025 (17:00 hrs) onwards.
- NCC Special Entry: Must possess NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ Certificate (acquired within 2 years from AFCAT registration date).
Instructions
- Aadhaar mandatory for registration.
- Ensure eligibility; incorrect info leads to cancellation at any stage.
- Serving Airmen and Govt employees must follow NOC norms.
- No request for change of exam centre/date/slot.
- Exam day: Carry e-Admit Card, original Aadhaar, second photo ID, two photos, and blue/black pen. Restricted items not allowed.
- Tattoos: Only as per policy; non-permissible tattoos lead to rejection.
- Narcotics/alcohol dependence: Disqualification as per policy.
