Educational Qualification

- Certificate of English Shorthand and English Typing from a recognized institution
- Diploma/Certificate of at least 6 months in Computer Application from a recognized institution
- Minimum speeds: 80 wpm in English Shorthand; 40 wpm in English Typing
Preferential qualification (other things being equal):
- Two years’ service in Territorial Army; or
- ‘B’ Certificate of NCC

Selection Process
- Written Test:
- Part-A: English Shorthand Computer Typing Test (80 wpm for 320 words; 4 min dictation + 7 min revision + 15 min transcription) — 100 marks; min 85 accuracy/100
- Part-B: MCQ (English Language & Grammar – 30; Computer Awareness – 20) — 50 marks; min 20/50; no negative marking
- Part-C: English Typing Test (40 wpm for 400 words) — 100 marks; min 90 accuracy/100
- Interview: 10 marks; minimum 3
- Shortlisting: Up to 3 times the vacancies (plus ties at cutoff) for Interview following reservation/roster
- Final merit: Written Test + Interview; tie-break by higher Written score, then older age
