Salary Details
- Stipend: Monthly stipend as per Apprentices Act, 1961 & Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 (as amended). Actual amount varies by category (as per Govt. norms).
Educational Qualification
- Trade Apprentice: ITI passed in relevant trade from a recognized institute.
- Technician Apprentice: Diploma in relevant discipline.
- Graduate Apprentice: Degree (B.Tech) in relevant engineering branch.
- Note: Only candidates who have passed in their respective streams are eligible.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years (as on 31.08.2025)
- Maximum Age: 28 years (as on 31.08.2025)
- Age Relaxation: As per Govt. of Odisha guidelines (for reserved categories).
Selection Process
- Shortlisting purely on merit, based on percentage (%) of marks in qualifying examination (as per branch/trade).
- No interview/test. Preference to eligible Sundargarh District residents, then other Odisha districts, then rest of India (if applicable).
How to Apply
A. For ITI (Trade Apprentices):
- Register at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
- Login as candidate > Go to Apprenticeship Opportunity > Search by Establishment “SAIL ROURKELA STEEL PLANT” > Apply for eligible trade.
B. For Diploma/B.Tech (Technician/Graduate Apprentices):
- Register as student at nats.education.gov.in.
- Login > Go to Establishments Requests > Find Establishments > Select “STEEL AUTHORITY OF INDIA LIMITED, Rourkela Steel Plant, Rourkela” > Apply to eligible branch.
- Use valid email and mobile for registration (must be active for 1 year).
- Double-check all information before submitting.
- Take printout of application for reference.

- Preference in selection as per residency (Sundargarh, then Odisha, then India).
