Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for training in various designated trades across different divisions, workshops, and units under the jurisdiction of Southern Railway. Salary Details
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as follows:
- Freshers (X Standard): Rs. 6,000/- per month
- Freshers (12th Standard): Rs. 7,000/- per month
- Ex-ITI Candidates: Rs. 7,000/- per month
Educational Qualification
Fresher Category
- Fitter, Painter & Welder: Must have passed 10th Class with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks under the 10+2 system.
- Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, Cardiology): Must have passed 12th Class with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
Ex-ITI Category
- Various Trades (Fitter, Electrician, Welder, etc.): Must have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under the 10+2 system and passed the ITI Course in the relevant trade from a Government recognized ITI.
- Secretarial Assistant & Stenographer (English): Must have passed 12th Class under the 10+2 system and passed the ITI Course in the relevant trade.
Age Limit
(As of the date of notification)
- Candidates must have completed 15 years of age.
- The upper age limit is 22 years for Freshers and 24 years for Ex-ITI/MLT candidates.
- Age relaxation is applicable: 3 years for OBC (NCL), 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD).
Selection Process
The selection will be based on a merit list prepared from the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations:
- Fresher Category: Based on marks obtained in the 10th standard.
- Ex-ITI Category: Based on marks in both the 10th standard and the ITI course, with equal weightage given to both.
- MLT Category: Based on marks obtained in the 12th standard (with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).

- Fill out the application form with all required details.
- Pay the non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 100/- through the online mode.
- SC/ST, PwBD, and Women candidates are exempted from the fee payment.
- After successful submission, take a printout of the application acknowledgement.
Instructions
- This notification is for apprenticeship training and does not guarantee employment.
- Candidates must reside within the geographical jurisdiction of Southern Railway to be eligible.
- Only qualifications acquired through recognized Boards/Institutes will be considered.
- Selected candidates must arrange for their own accommodation.
- Any false information will lead to disqualification at any stage.
