Salary Details
The monthly remuneration for the posts is as follows:
- Principal Project Associate (RS & GIS): ₹49,000 + HRA
- Principal Project Associate (Hardware/Networking/Storage): ₹49,000 + HRA
- Project/Field Assistant: ₹20,000 + HRA. An increment of 15% is applicable for every 3 years of experience, with a maximum of 4 such revisions (up to 12 years of experience).
Educational Qualification
Principal Project Associate (RS & GIS)
- Essential: Master’s Degree in Science/Engineering/Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology. A Doctoral Degree in a relevant field is also acceptable. A diploma/certificate of at least 6 months in Remote Sensing and GIS is required for degrees other than RS/GIS or Geo-Informatics.
- Experience: 8 years for Master’s/Bachelor’s degree holders and 4 years for Doctoral degree holders in relevant research and development.
Principal Project Associate (Hardware/Networking/Storage)
- Essential: Master’s degree in Computer Science/IT, MCA, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks. A Doctoral Degree in a relevant field is also acceptable.
- Experience: 8 years for Master’s/Bachelor’s degree holders and 4 years for Doctoral degree holders in relevant research and development.
Project/Field Assistant
- Essential: B.Sc. or a 3-year Diploma in Engineering & Technology.
- Desirable: Experience in field data collection, documentation, and data analysis is preferred.
Age Limit
The upper age limit as of September 24, 2025, is as follows:
- Principal Project Associate: 40 years
- Project/Field Assistant: 50 years
- Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD applicants will be as per Government norms.
Selection Process
The selection process will be conducted at the Forest Survey of India, Dehradun, and will consist of three parts:
- Written Test: A multiple-choice or short-answer type test.
- Hands-on Test: Only candidates who qualify the written test will be called for this stage.
- Interview: The final stage of the selection process.
The final selection will be based on the combined performance in all three stages. If a large number of applications are received, only shortlisted candidates will be called for the selection process.
