Salary Details
The salary will be based on the 7th CPC Pay Matrix levels :
- Level-2: Grade Pay of ₹1900/-
- Level-1: Grade Pay of ₹1800/-
Emoluments on initial appointment will include the minimum pay of the level plus other admissible allowances.
Educational and Scouts & Guides Qualification
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Educational Qualification :
- For Level-2 (Grade Pay Rs. 1900/-):
- Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent with at least 50% marks.
- For technical posts: Matriculation (10th) plus ITI or Course Completed Act Apprenticeship.
- For Level-1 (Grade Pay Rs. 1800/-):
- 10th pass or ITI or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT.
Minimum Scouts & Guides Qualification :
- A President’s Scout/Guide/Ranger/Rover OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) Holder in any section.
- Must have been an active member of a Scouts organization for at least 5 years.
- Should have attended two events at the National level OR All India Railways’ level AND two events at the State level.
Age Limit
The age of the candidates will be reckoned as on 01.01.2026.
- For Level-2 (GP Rs. 1900/-): 18 to 30 years
- For Level-1 (GP Rs. 1800/-): 18 to 33 years
Age relaxation is applicable for candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC), ex-servicemen, and other specified groups as per government norms.
Selection Process
The selection process will be based on a total of 100 marks, comprising :
- Written Test (60 Marks): This will include 40 objective questions (40 marks) and one essay-type question (20 marks) on Scouts and Guides organization, activities, and general knowledge. There will be negative marking for wrong answers in the objective section.
- Marks on Certificates (40 Marks): Marks will be awarded based on participation in National/State level events, specialized courses, and district rallies.

- Register online with your basic details to get a Registration Number and Password.
- Log in and fill out the online application form.
- Pay the application fee online through internet banking or debit/credit cards.
- General/OBC: ₹500 (₹400 will be refunded to those who appear for the written test).
- SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Women/Minorities/EBC: ₹250 (fully refundable for those who appear for the written test).
- Upload scanned copies of your photograph (in Scout & Guide uniform), signature, and all required certificates (age proof, educational qualification, S&G certificates, caste certificate, etc.).
- Submit the application and take a printout for your records.
Instructions
- Candidates must ensure they fulfill all eligibility criteria before applying.
- Selected candidates will have to pass the prescribed medical examination.
- Serving employees must upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
- The quota is open to all communities, but age relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
- Candidates can be posted anywhere on North Central Railway as per administrative requirements.
