Salary Details
A monthly stipend will be provided for the one-year training period.
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentice: ₹12,000 per month
- Graduate (Degree) Apprentice: ₹13,000 per month
Educational Qualification
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentice: A full-time Diploma in the relevant Engineering/Technology discipline from a State Council, Board of Technical Education, or recognized University.
- Graduate (Degree) Apprentice: A full-time Graduate degree (B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc./BCA/B.Com/BLIS) in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.
Eligibility Requirement: Candidates must have passed their qualifying examination in the years 2023, 2024, or 2025 only. Candidates with prior work experience of one year or more are not eligible.
Age Limit
The age will be calculated as of the date of the interview (27.10.2025).

Age relaxation is applicable: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and up to 10 years for PWD candidates as per government norms.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be done through a Walk-in Interview. If a large number of candidates appear, the selection committee may shortlist candidates based on its own criteria. Final selection is subject to the verification of original documents.
How to Apply
- NATS Registration: Candidates must first register themselves on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal at https://nats.education.gov.in/. Note down the unique Enrolment Number generated after registration.
- Find Establishment: Log in to the NATS portal, search for “NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF OCEAN TECHNOLOGY” under the ‘Find Establishment’ menu, and apply.
- Attend Interview: Appear for the walk-in interview at the NIOT campus in Chennai on the scheduled date and time.
- Bring Documents: Carry the duly filled-in application form (available on the NIOT website), along with original and one set of self-attested photocopies of all relevant documents (educational certificates, mark sheets, date of birth proof, caste certificate, Aadhaar card) and a passport-size photograph.
