Salary Details
- EO/AO: Level-08 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.
- APFC: Level-10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.
Educational Qualification
- EO/AO (Essential): Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized university/institute. Note: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of UPSC for candidates otherwise well qualified.
- APFC (Essential): Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
- APFC (Desirable): Diploma in Company Law/Labour Laws/Public Administration.
Age Limit
- EO/AO: 30 years (UR/EWS), 33 years (OBC), 35 years (SC/ST), 40 years (PwBD).
- APFC: 35 years (UR/EWS), 38 years (OBC), 40 years (SC), 35 years (ST), 45 years (PwBD).
- Relaxations (as per notification and rules): SC/ST up to 5 years; OBC up to 3 years; EPFO employees up to 5 years; Central/UT Govt. servants up to 5 years (10 years for SC/ST & 8 years for OBC in posts reserved for them); Ex-Servicemen/ECOs/SSCOs as per rules; PwBD 10 years (subject to maximum age not exceeding 56 years on the closing date).
Selection Process
- Combined Recruitment Test (CRT) followed by Interview.
- CRT Scheme:
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Objective type, multiple-choice questions.
- Equal marks per question.
- Medium: English and Hindi.
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer.

How to Apply
- Apply online only through upsconline.nic.in. No other mode is accepted.
- Universal Registration (URN) is mandatory; one-time registration; no modification allowed thereafter.
- Use a correct and active email ID; take a printout of the final Online Recruitment Application after submission.
- No withdrawal of application is allowed after submission.
- Application Fee:
- Rs.25 for a single post; Rs.50 for both posts.
- No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates of any community.
- Payment modes: SBI cash deposit, net banking of any bank, Visa/Master/Rupay Credit/Debit Card, UPI, up to 18-08-2025, 23:59 hrs.
Instructions
- Ensure eligibility before applying; admission at each stage is provisional.
- Shortlisting may be applied based on desirable qualification(s), higher qualification/experience, experience counting, or by holding a Recruitment Test.
- Headquarters: New Delhi; postings liable anywhere in India.
- Probation: Two years.
- CRT Examination Centers: 78 centers across India; allotment on “first-apply-first-allot” basis (Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata, Nagpur are open centers). No change of center requests. Date and time to be informed on UPSC website.
- PwBD Facilities: Scribe and compensatory time as per RPwD Act provisions with required certificates in prescribed proformas (Appendix-V, VII, etc.). Qualification of scribe should not exceed the minimum qualification criteria; must be matriculate or above.
- Mobile phones/electronic gadgets are banned at examination/interview venues.
- Reach examination venue at least 30 minutes prior to commencement; no late entry.
