Salary Details
- During the one-year training period, selected candidates will receive a basic pay of Rs. 40,000/- per month in the pay scale of Rs. 40,000-1,40,000/- (E-1) plus Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA).
- Other benefits include HRA, allowances, PF, Performance Related Pay, Group Medical Insurance, and more as per company directives.
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess a postgraduate degree: M.Sc/ M.Tech./ M.Sc.Tech. in Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, or Geophysical Technology, or an equivalent qualification from a UGC/AICTE recognized university.
- Note: M.Sc. (Physics) / M.Sc. (Applied Physics) or equivalent degrees are not eligible.
Age Limit
The upper age limit is 28 years as of 31.10.2025. Relaxations are applicable for reserved categories as per Government of India guidelines:

Selection Process
- The selection will be based on the marks (out of 1200) scored in the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2024 (Geophysics discipline).
- MECL will not conduct a separate written examination or personal interview.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification based on their UPSC CGSE 2024 scores.
- Eligibility: Only candidates who cleared the written round of UPSC CGSE 2024, appeared for the interview, were not recommended for final selection, and consented to share their information on the UPSC website are eligible.

Instructions

- The appointment includes a one-year training period and probation.
- A service bond of Rs. 1.8 Lakhs must be executed to serve the company for a minimum period of 36 months. A retention amount of Rs. 5,000/- per month will be deducted from the salary against this bond.
