Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), a premier establishment of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Avadi, Chennai, has announced the Paid Internship Scheme for the academic year 2026-27. Salary Details
- Monthly Stipend: Rs. 5,000/- per month for a total duration of 06 months.
- Disbursement Mode: Stipend will be credited directly into the student’s bank account in two equal slabs of 3 months each (Rs. 15,000/- per slab).
Educational Qualification
- Under Graduate Internship: Regular full-time B.E. / B.Tech students currently studying in their 7th or 8th semester from AICTE approved technical institutions or UGC recognized universities.
- Post Graduate Internship: Regular full-time M.E. / M.Tech students currently studying in their 1st or 2nd year from AICTE approved technical institutions or UGC recognized universities.
- Academic Criteria: Good academic track record with minimum 8.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 85% marks continuously maintained throughout previous semesters.
- Backlog Rule: Students with active backlogs are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit
- Age eligibility criteria governed as per DRDO / CVRDE institutional norms for regular full-time UG and PG engineering students.
Selection Process
- Merit Basis: Selection will be conducted purely on a merit basis based on CGPA / percentage of marks obtained in previous semesters.
- Intimation: Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email along with joining instructions. No separate communication will be entertained for unselected candidates.
How to Apply
- Download the advertisement application form (Appendix ‘A’), NOC template (Appendix ‘B’), and Undertaking form (Appendix ‘C’) from the official DRDO website.
- Fill out the application form (Appendix ‘A’) completely in block capital letters and affix a recent passport-size photograph ($4.5 \times 3.5\text{ cm}$).
- Obtain the signed Request Letter / No Objection Certificate (NOC) on the official college letterhead from the Principal / Director of your institution (Appendix ‘B’).
- Fill and sign the Undertaking Form (Appendix ‘C’).
- Attach self-attested photocopies of the following required documents:
- Mark sheets of all previous semesters showing CGPA/percentage.
- Bonafide and Character Certificate issued by college authorities.
- Copy of Aadhaar Card.
- Copy of College ID Card.
- Student Biodata (restricted to a maximum of 300 words).
- Proof of awards, certificates, publications, or patents (if any).
- Place the application form and all enclosures inside a single envelope.
- Super-scribe on top of the envelope: “Application for Paid internship” along with “Branch Code No. ____”.

Instructions
- No Application Fee: Application processing or internship program fees are not applicable at any stage.
- Nationality: Open strictly to students holding Indian nationality.
- No Guarantee of Employment: CVRDE/DRDO holds no obligation to offer regular employment to interns upon completion of the training.
- Boarding & Transport: No boarding, lodging, or transport expenses will be paid by CVRDE. Students must arrange their own lodging and transport. Paid canteen facilities (lunch & tea) are available at CVRDE.
- Mandatory Joining Documents: Selected candidates must produce a Police Verification Report and a Medical Fitness Certificate issued by an authorized medical practitioner (minimum MBBS/BAMS qualification) at the time of joining.
- Other Stipends: Students receiving a stipend or monetary assistance from any other institution are ineligible.
