Educational Qualification
Essential Qualifications (EQ)
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in Statistics OR
- Master’s Degree in Operations Research OR
- Master’s Degree in Forestry OR
- Master’s Degree in Economics (with Statistics) OR
- Master’s Degree in Commerce (with Statistics) OR
- Master’s Degree in Mathematics (with Statistics) OR
- Master’s Degree in Agriculture (with Statistics) OR
- Two years’ Post-Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management from a recognized Institute/University
Note: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Experience Requirement:
- Two years’ experience in collection or compilation or analysis of data including data in Agriculture or Forestry work
Note: The experience qualification is relaxable at the discretion of UPSC for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes if sufficient number of candidates from this community possessing the requisite experience are not available.

Selection Process
The selection process includes:
- Scrutiny of Applications – Based on essential qualifications and experience
- Interview – Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview
- Final Selection – Based on interview performance
Selection Criteria Applied:
- For SC Vacancy (01): EQ-A + EQ (B) reduced up to 50%
- For UR Vacancies (02): EQ-A + EQ (B) raised to 3 years or more

- Only experience in collection, compilation, or analysis of data specifically in Agriculture or Forestry work is considered
- Experience certificates must be in prescribed proforma as per R(C&P)’s circular
- Part-time, hourly basis, daily wages, apprentice, trainee, consultant, honorary, voluntary, internship, casual, or self-employment work is not considered relevant
- Contract basis experience in relevant field is considered
- Research experience in Agriculture or Forestry is considered relevant
- Experience during educational qualification period is not considered
Document Requirements:
- All supporting documents must be uploaded with online application
- Experience certificates must clearly specify nature of duties
- Certificates must cover the entire duration claimed
- Self-attested documents are not acceptable as proof of experience
