Salary Details
The fellowship amount for JRFs is ₹31,000 per month for the first two years and is likely to be increased to ₹35,000 per month as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for the subsequent years, subject to satisfactory performance and review.
Educational Qualification
The educational qualification varies for each post, as detailed below:
- JRF 119: Masters Degree in Water Resources Engg./Hydrology/Civil Engg./Agricultural Engg./Geoinformatics/Remote Sensing & GIS or equivalent.
- JRF 120: M.Tech in Civil Engg./Water Resources Engg./ Hydrology/ Remote Sensing & GIS or equivalent.
- JRF 121: M.Tech in Geology/ Geophysics/ Applied Geology/ Earth Science or Geoinfomatics/Geomatics/Remote Sensing and GIS or equivalent, OR M.Sc. in Geology/ Geophysics or equivalent subject with Post graduate diploma (PGD) in Remote Sensing and GIS.
- JRF 122: M.Sc or equivalent in Physics/ Applied Physics/ Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ Geomatics/ Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing/ Computer Science/ IT/ or equivalent, OR M.Tech/M.E./M.Arch/M.Plan or equivalent in Physics/Maths/Geography/Geology/Civil Engineering/ Geomatics/ Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing/Computer Science/ IT/Architecture& Planning/Heritage science & Technology.
- JRF 123: Master degree in Agricultural Meteorology/Agricultural Physics/Plant Physiology/Agronomy/ Environmental Science/Forestry/Ecology/Remote Sensing & GIS/Geoinformatics or equivalent.
- JRF 124: Master degree in Agricultural Meteorology/Agricultural Physics/Plant Physiology/Environmental Science/ Environmental management/ Forestry/Ecology/Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geoinformatics or equivalent.
- JRF 125: M.Sc degree in Physics/Applied Physics /Atmospheric science/ Meteorology/ Climatology/ Environmental Science/ Maths, OR M.Tech degree Atmospheric Science/Applied Physics / Meterology/ Climatology/ RS & GIS.
- For all JRF positions, candidates must have qualified CSIR – UGC – NET or GATE or a national level examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies.
Age Limit
The upper age limit is 28 years as on the last date of receipt of applications, with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates as per Government of India rules.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the interview. However, IIRS reserves the right to conduct a written test if the number of applications is large.
