Salary Details
- Pay matrix: Level-10B Rs.61,300–1,20,900.
- Military Service Pay (MSP): Rs.15,500/month.
- Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA): 20% of Basic Pay.
- HRA: As per X/Y/Z city classification (if applicable).
- Other allowances (as applicable to area/rank): Field Area, High Altitude, Siachen, Dress Allowance Rs.20,000/year, Transport Allowance (Rs.7,200+DA for Higher TPTA cities; Rs.3,600+DA for others), Children Education Allowance Rs.2,250/month per child (up to 2), PG/ Specialist allowance (MDS Rs.2,250/month or specialist pay as per rules).
- Privileges: Free medical facilities for self and dependents, CSD, entitled rations, mess/club/sports facilities, government accommodation (as per availability), subsidized loans, Army Group Insurance cover (as per prevailing rules).
- Leave: 60 days Annual + 20 days Casual leave per year (service exigencies apply), travel concessions/LTC as per rules.
Educational Qualification
- Degree: BDS or MDS from a DCI-recognized college/university (the college must be recognized for the batch/year of graduation).
- Registration: Permanent or Provisional Dental Registration with State Dental Council/DCI, valid at least up to 31 Dec 2025.
- Minimum marks: BDS candidates must have minimum 55% aggregate in final year BDS (aggregate of all subjects). MDS degree holders are eligible regardless of BDS final-year percentage.
- Internship: One-year compulsory rotatory internship completed by 30 Jun 2025.
- Exceptions accepted only for:
- Batch admitted in AY 2007–2008 who completed 4.5-year BDS plus 6 months internship.
- Batch admitted in AY 2006–2007 at Rajah Muthiah Dental College, Annamalai University who completed 5-year BDS without internship.
- Exceptions accepted only for:
- NEET (MDS) 2025: Mandatory appearance in NEET (MDS) 2025 conducted by NBE on 19 Apr 2025.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 45 years as on 31 Dec 2025.
Selection Process
- Shortlisting: Based on NEET (MDS) 2025 score and eligibility; typically in 1:10 ratio (10 candidates per vacancy) for interview.
- Interview: Conducted by a Selection Board at New Delhi; final merit is based on interview performance alone (subject to medical fitness).
- Medical Examination: Conducted by AFMS Medical Board as per commissioning standards. SMB/AMB/RMB processes apply as per rules; medical fitness is mandatory for commissioning.

- Application Processing Fee (APF): Rs.200 (non-refundable), payable online to DGAFMS (APF Fund).
- Upload the following documents with the application:
- Proof of age: Class X/SSLC/ICSE certificate or municipal birth certificate.
- NEET (MDS) 2025 Admit Card and Score Card.
- Final year BDS mark sheets (Part I & II, combined as one PDF). For 5-year BDS (excluding internship), upload 4th and 5th year mark sheets.
- BDS/MDS provisional pass certificate/degree.
- Internship completion certificate or certificate from Principal/Dean indicating internship completion date (by 30 Jun 2025).
- Dental registration (permanent/provisional) valid up to 31 Dec 2025.
- Identity/citizenship: Valid passport/Nationality/Domicile/Nativity certificate or Voter ID.
- Name change proof (if applicable): Gazette/affidavit/newspaper ad.
- NOC from present employer (if employed).
- Self-certified Undertaking (as per brochure) for BDS/MDS candidates (pages 16/17).
- Photograph (as per portal specs). Keep 5 additional passport-size photos (white background) for medical/interview stage.
Instructions
- Only Indian citizens are eligible.
- Appearing in NEET (MDS) 2025 is mandatory for both BDS and MDS applicants.
- Document verification: Originals must be produced at interview. If originals are deposited elsewhere, bring deposit certificate and attested copies by Dean/Head; originals required at joining if selected.
- Communication: Use a valid mobile number and email; interview schedules and updates will be hosted on the AFMS site and sent via email.
