Educational Qualification
- Management Trainees through GATE-2025/UGC-NET June 2025:
- MT (EDP): BE/BTech in Computer Science & Information Technology or equivalent; valid GATE-2025 paper CS.
- MT (Electrical): BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering; valid GATE-2025 paper EE.
- MT (Mining): BE/BTech in Mining Engineering; valid GATE-2025 paper MN.
- MT (Mechanical): BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering; valid GATE-2025 paper ME.
- MT (Chemical): BE/BTech in Chemical Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering; valid GATE-2025 paper CH/MT.
- MT (Personnel): Relevant PG qualification as per detailed notification with UGC-NET June 2025 in Human Resources (Subject Code 55).
- For Graduate Operational Trainee and Diploma Trainee posts: Essential qualifications, disciplines/specializations, and any experience requirements are as per detailed post-wise criteria on the UCIL website.
- All qualifications should be full-time and recognized by Indian Universities/Statutory bodies. Age Limit

- Relaxations/reservations: As per Government of India norms for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwBD/Ex-servicemen, subject to valid certificates in prescribed formats.
Selection Process
- Management Trainees:
- MT (Engineering disciplines: EDP, Electrical, Mining, Mechanical, Chemical): Shortlisting based on GATE-2025 score in relevant paper; final merit out of 100 with 80% weightage to GATE-2025 and 20% to Personal Interview; due reservation applied. Only GATE-2025 is valid.
- MT (Personnel): Shortlisting based on UGC-NET June 2025 (Human Resources, Subject Code 55); final merit out of 100 with 80% UGC-NET (June 2025) and 20% Interview; only June 2025 cycle valid.
- Ties at cut-off: All candidates with same cut-off marks shortlisted for interview.
- Other posts (GOTs/DTs): Selection may be through Written Test/Psychometric Test/Group Exercise/Personal Interview or combinations thereof, as decided by UCIL based on response. Only shortlisted candidates will be called to the next stage.
- Documents’ verification for age, education, category, GATE/UGC-NET scorecards (as applicable), etc., at subsequent stages.
- UCIL reserves the right to cancel/restrict/modify the process at any stage.
