Salary Details
Selected candidates for the Junior Translation Officer post will be placed in Level-06 of the pay matrix, with a pay scale of ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400 per month. In addition, employees are eligible for Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance as per government rules.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications from a recognized University as of 13.10.2025 :
- Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a subject or medium of examination at the degree level.
- Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a subject or medium of examination at the degree level.
- Master’s degree in any subject (other than Hindi or English) with Hindi medium and English as a subject or medium of examination at the degree level.
- Master’s degree in any subject (other than Hindi or English) with English medium and Hindi as a subject or medium of examination at the degree level.
- Master’s degree in any subject (other than Hindi or English) with Hindi and English as subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a subject at the degree level.
In addition to the above, candidates must also have:
- A recognized Diploma or Certificate course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa OR two years of translation work experience from Hindi to English and vice-versa in a Central or State Government Office, including Government of India undertakings.
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 and 35 years of age as of 13.10.2025. Age relaxation is applicable for Ex-servicemen, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and other categories as per Government of India orders.
Selection Process
The selection process involves two stages :
- Written Test: A 120-minute test consisting of objective (Part-A) and descriptive (Part-B) questions for a total of 100 marks. Candidates must score a minimum of 60 marks to qualify.
- Skill Test: This test is purely qualifying (go/no-go basis) and includes précis writing and translation tasks. Candidates must score a minimum of 60 out of 100 points to pass. The marks from this test will not be considered for the final merit list.
The final selection will be based solely on the marks obtained in the written test.

- An initial application fee of ₹750 is required for all candidates. The fee is fully refundable for Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen who appear for the written test. Other candidates will receive a refund of ₹500.
- Candidates must upload scanned copies of their recent passport-size photograph, signature, and all relevant educational and category certificates.
- Applicants intending to apply for both post codes (07 and 08) must submit separate applications and pay the fee for each.
Instructions
- Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must ensure they fulfill all eligibility criteria before applying.
- The number of vacancies is provisional and may change.
- Candidates employed in government/PSU/autonomous bodies must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of the skill test.
- The written test will be conducted in 18 cities, and candidates can provide their preference.
