Salary Details
- Pay Scale: Level-2 (₹19,900 – 63,200) in the Pay Matrix + admissible allowances
Educational Qualification
- Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board/Institute, with knowledge of English.
- Apprenticeship Training in the relevant trade (Ex-Navy Apprentices from Indian Navy Apprentice Schools/Yard Apprentice Schools).
- OR 2 years’ regular service as Mechanic/Equivalent in appropriate Technical Branch of Army/Navy/Air Force.
- Note:
Qualifications are “relaxable at the discretion of the Appointing Authority” for well-qualified candidates.

Reservation

Selection Process
- Screening of Applications: Preliminary check; admit cards for all eligible.
- Written Examination: Single paper (Objective, 100 marks, 2 hours).
- Document Verification, Medical Exam, Pre-appointment formalities.
- Merit List: Based only on written exam marks, subject to reservation, tie-breakers as per DoPT.

- English: Grammar, usage, comprehension, synonyms/antonyms, sentence skills, etc.
Nature of Duties
- Repair/maintenance of Indian Navy ships/submarines, shop floor work, specific responsibilities per trade (see notification for detailed job profiles).
